From an early age, Prof. Rashid has had a passion for education. He understands the importance of educating the youth and upholds the idea that this is the only way for a country to progress. That is why even as a young doctor, he joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of his alma mater Nishtar Medical College.
Prof. Rashid has made great strides in advancing the healthcare industry of Pakistan. Besides being the first surgeon to perform an endoscopic surgery in Pakistan, he also accomplished the incredible feat of creating the first successful IVF pregnancy in South Asia. Prof. Rashid spent considerable time as Dean of Postgraduates at Post Graduates Medical Institutes (PGMI) Lahore. He was also the founder and president of the South Asian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (SAFOG) as well as the past president of The Society of Obstetricians & Gynecologists of Pakistan (SOGP) His efforts in innovating the healthcare industry have been recognized by the government of Pakistan and has been awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Besides his accomplishments as a doctor, Prof. Rashid is also credited for founding a leading private hospital: Hameed Latif Hospital. Through many years of perseverance and hard work, Hameed Latif has grown to boast over 350 beds and allows doctors of various specialties to treat their patients.
Prof. Rashid's unwavering passion for academia remains undeterred by the limitations of age. He would go on to found Rashid Latif Medical Complex, which consists of two campuses and offers students novel and thrilling opportunities to expand their expertise in their selected domains.
Professor Dr. Rashid Latif Khan has facilitated several strategic initiatives in the field. He founded RLKU as a center of excellence for the future training of doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff driven by the conviction that its students will emerge as masters in the field of medicine.
As the first-ever doctor to introduce IVF technology in Pakistan, Dr. Rashid Latif Khan has always strived to offer exceptional patient care at the heart of his practice, a value that now extends to the students of RLKU.
